Position: Mine Engineer/Management Trainee

Location: North Jersey

Scope: Gain a wide variety of experiences in the aggregates and materials industry with a goal of developing into a management position.

Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Learn aggregate sampling and testing procedures
  • Learn permitting and maintain compliance in water, air, for multiple locations
  • Manage and maintain mine plan and reclamation plans for multiple locations
  • Calculate and manage stockpile inventory files
  • Oversee and manage special projects related to quarry operations
  • Conduct feasibility studies and environmental assessments, weighing up the commercial advantages and evaluating any issues relating to sustainability.
  • Assessing the feasibility and the potential for commercial benefit of new sites
  • Producing models or plans for possible mining sites
  • Planning and implementing extraction systems
  • Managing construction projects
  • Ensuring that operations comply with health and safety requirements
  • Liaising with and advising managerial and technical staff
  • Understanding quoting and bidding of materials
  • Product market analyses

Qualifications and Training Required:


    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering


    • Internships/Co-Op preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Work a full day up to 10 or more working hours at a time
  • Ability to perform manual and semi-skilled labor in various weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry weights of up to 50 pounds
  • Able to work under extreme conditions, such as hot or cold temperatures, noise, dust, and dirt.
  • Standing for extended periods of time throughout shift.
  • Must have ability to lift tools, machinery parts, and other objects weighing up to 60-80 pounds each.
  • Endure intermittent bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching throughout shift.
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather

Work Environment:

  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and moving mechanical parts and equipment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
