Job Summary


The Gunite Operations Foreman is responsible for overall wet and dry process shotcrete operations in accordance with safety guidelines, business plans, company goals and regional strategies. Responsibility for personnel, equipment, crew task assignment and project scheduling. Works closely with operations management staff to minimize delivery cost logistics through effective user of strategic plant locations. Responsibility for multiple plants and locations may fall under the duties of this position. Reports directly to the Operations Manager at the assigned plant.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


* Assists and participates with organization's inventory and delivery processes related to the shotcrete business in coordination with the plant Operations Manager.


* Responsible for the planning, organizing, and directing crews. Responsible for monitoring crew productivity, coordinating schedules and ensuring that crew performance meets or exceeds customer expectations.


* Responsible for reading and ensuring all plans and specifications are translated into the shotcrete construction, to include the review of steel, excavation, depths, features and dimensions.

* Communicates equipment, personnel and miscellaneous expendable needs to dispatch team, sales professionals, and Operations Manager. Proactively ensures that these items are always available when needed.


* Responsible for meeting or exceeding customers' expectations for service on a daily basis in a professional and ethical manner. Works with customer prior to job to determine access issues, job readiness, pump system needs and any job specific needs required to be successful.

* Reviews and discusses results of production reports and profit-loss statements.


* Enforces compliance with all OSHA regulations and ensures shotcrete personnel observe these regulations. Identify site specific risks during pre-site and ensure General Contractor incorporates OSHA approved standards prior to crew arrival.


* Assists and participates with the Quality Control department in monitoring the shotcrete products and equipment meet or exceed performance standards and the shotcrete is installed correctly and per plan.


* Provides skills training for new hires, existing employees, and the personnel requiring additional OJT training or re-training. Evaluates progress and reports findings back to Operations Manager.

* Promotes and enforces a culture of excellence directed towards the plant fundamentals of: Safety, Quality, Production Efficiency, Housekeeping and Preventative Maintenance.

* Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis, as needed to support the successful business operation.



* High School diploma or equivalent.

* Minimum 5-7 years related experience and/or training in related functions; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

* Must have valid CDL driver's license.

* Proficient in MS Office suite, web-based data management tools and Internet applications.

* Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and peers.

*Must have the ability to define problems, collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Frequent ability to climb, stretch, and reach.

Moderate ability to lift or move up to 100 pounds.

Moderate ability to operate heavy machinery.

Occasional ability to travel 10-20%

Able to work in extreme conditions including hot or cold temperatures, noise, dirt, dust, with moderate noise levels.
