Customer Service Representative | Flushing, Queens

Job SummaryCustomer Service Representatives communicate with customers and record orders accurately.  Additionally, the Customer Service Representative may also be responsible for assisting with directing truck movement and customer orders to ensure efficient and on-time delivery of concrete to customers. 

 

Job duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and record detailed order instructions
  • Answer customer service calls for new orders, changes, status updates and cancellations while maintaining a high level of customer service in frequent high pressure situations in the Customer Service dept
  • Answer a high volume of phone calls in a high energy environment.
  • Requires a thorough understanding of customer service/call center dynamics, transportation logistics, and the interactions of manufacturing and delivery of a perishable product
  • Communicate with sales representatives and delivery professionals regarding jobs being completed
  • Participate in customer service training programs to improve knowledge of the product and systems in place to ensure on-time delivery

Qualifications

  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Working knowledge of the geography and city streets within the plant service area to efficiently direct concrete delivery professionals
  • Ability to make effective decisions under pressure and to establish and maintain working relationships
  • General knowledge of characteristics and production requirements of concrete products preferred
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment.
  • Knowledge of computer programs for data/order entry tracking preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Bilingual communication skills preferred
