Human Resources Administrator | Saddle Brook, NJ

Position Summary

The Human Resources Administrator will support the day-to-day functional areas of the Department which includes benefits administration and open enrollment, employee policy development, documentation, and record management.

The Human Resources Administrator provides support to the East Region HR Department. This support will include but not be limited to gathering and reporting data, sourcing documents, drafting correspondence, and organizing meetings.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist in the facilitation of the health and welfare open enrollment period.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all benefits and 401(k) related inquiries.
  • Conduct onboarding and pre-employment activities for employees, which includes new hire paperwork and orientation.
  • Maintain various employee files and document employee changes.
  • Assist with compliance projects including DOT Clearinghouse and NY Sexual Harassment.
  • Assist with supplying and collecting documentation for FMLA and Disability.
  • Support the facilitation of the annual drug testing.
  • Assist the process and maintain the documents for the annual goal setting and employee reviews.
  • Help maintain driver DOT files to remain in compliance which includes, updating driver credentials, running reports, and auditing files.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of three (3) years of human resources experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education required.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, or comparable publications. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve new or existing problems and deal with a variety of situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Attention to Detail: Incumbent must have strong proofreading skills, ability to complete tasks with thoroughness and accuracy; capability to comprehend and visualize "big picture"; confidence to ask questions, meet deadlines, and maintain proficiency while handling multiple projects at once.
  • Other Required Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office software; strong organizational and time management skills; must be able to maintain confidential information and work in a fast-paced environment; flexible schedule availability (possible early start times); Department of Transportation regulations a plus.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, walk, talk, hear, and occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
