Quarry Laborer 

Hours: 2nd Shift (9am-6pm)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operator performs multiple duties within a plant setting such as operating quarry equipment, moving materials and debris, and cleaning equipment and work area. 
  • Moves debris or other material about the plant; sweeps and cleans work areas. 
  • Operating a variety of off road trucks and equipment (front loaders, crushing plants, drills, scaling equipment, etc...) to efficiently meet production needs
  • Excavates quarry to maintain desired face, ramp and floor conditions including the construction
  • Performs a variety of lifting and loading tasks
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts, and complete tasks as assigned.
  • Weld and use of cutting torch as needed.
  • Perform general repairs to plant structures.
  • Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Maintain and repair of production equipment as assigned.
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
  • Maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Must comply with Company safety requirements.


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and moving mechanical parts and equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.


Physical Requirements:

  • Work a full day up to 10 or more working hours at a time
  • Ability to perform manual and semi-skilled labor in various weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry weights of up to 50 pounds
  • Able to work under extreme conditions, such as hot or cold temperatures, noise, dust, and dirt.
  • Standing for extended periods of time throughout shift.
  • Must have ability to lift tools, machinery parts, and other objects weighing up to 60-80 pounds each.
  • Endure intermittent bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching throughout shift.
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Skilled in fabrication, cutting and welding (Required)
  • Skilled in use of hand and power tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability are essential.
  • Experience with equipment such as loaders, excavators and trucks. (Preferred, but not required)
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electricity, carpentry or related field preferred.
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent in training, education, or experience.
  • Technical or vocational school certification or equivalent in training or experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Performs duties safely, responsibly and proficiently
  • Ability to work unusual schedules and overtime, when needed.
