Manager, Credit and Collections

 Overview

The Manager of Credit & Collections is a key member of the company's management team and plays a leadership role in the management of the credit and collection functions of the company.  This position recommends and implements company-wide credit and collection strategies and programs to meet the company's overall goals and objectives.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Assess credit worthiness of new and existing customers, including establishment and monitoring of credit limits.
  • Serve as lead for hands on collections account management and lien / bond processes on large, high volume key accounts.
  • Develop and enhance credit and collections policies and procedures.
  • Maintain good working knowledge of credit module and internal reporting, including recommendations for process improvements.
  • Work with sales team, management, and operations on credit matters including collections, credit hold status, COD status, etc.
  • Oversee application of customer payments made via lockboxes, credit cards, and cash.
  • Improve DSO.
  • Monitor aging and resolve delinquent balances.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with sales team and management to review status of accounts, including delinquent accounts.
  • Work with management on assessment for reserves on delinquent A/R.
  • Work with sales and billing teams to identify and process adjustments to customer accounts as needed.
  • Liaison with collection attorneys.
  • Supervise and mentor staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree business or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant credit and collections experience in a construction business or construction-related industry
  • Good systems/technology exposure
  • Self-starter, motivated and positive attitude
  • Good communication skills written and verbal
  • Good problem solving/analytical skills
  • Familiarity with large ERP systems preferred
