Sales Representative  |  New York City Territory

Position Summary

Responsible for sales and marketing of US Concrete in assigned territory.

Essential Job Functions

New Projects

  • Maintain log of all projects bidding. 
  • Provide price quotes to customers bidding new projects.
  • Review project specifications for pricing.
  • Negotiate new contracts. 

Existing Projects

  • Work with ISC to set up new project in our systems.
  • Add new items to projects as needed and provide pricing.
  • Monitor all prices and escalations in customer projects.
  • Insure all proper documentation is provided by customer.
  • Assist collections department as needed.

General Sales

  • Identifying and prospecting for new customers, developing relationships for continued business on existing customers, and maintaining positive relationships with contractors, supplies, and engineers.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, or comparable publications. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. 
  • Ability to utilize mathematical concepts to compute rate, ratio, percent, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, volume, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve new or existing problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Scope and Responsibility:

  • Responsible for sales and marketing of US Concrete in assigned territory.

Other Required Skills:

  • PC literate, analytical
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent oral and written English Communication Skills
  • Highly flexible, able to work on multiple projects while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent Organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to handle confidential information with confidence of Management
  • Must be accurate and have strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to maintain accurate records
  • Must be comfortable using Computers, Phones, Scanners, Fax Machines, and Copiers

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, walk, talk, hear and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.

Work Environment

  • The incumbent is occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor weather conditions. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
